I've been drawing lots of T-O-Es in my notebooks and on the desks in school during class...I liked how this one turned out so my friend took a photo and I colored it laters in Gimp...I had no idea what to put on his monitor x<



I was feeling happy so I drew this during a class.......Gerund is the cutest thing ever 83

a doodle I forgot to post of Leader....concept sketch that is. I liked how it turned out but he looked too much like Shadow from Wolf and he didn't really match the style of the others so I changed him. I like the new design better anyway
And the other wolf is a character that used to be male but I decided to change him to a girl to fit a plot idea of mine. Now I have to draw him all over again xD (wow took me like 5 minutes or what?)

I kinda like how it turned out. I was experimenting with a new style because drawing the same way all the time gets really boring.

"I recently read this amazing comic by Evan Dahm. I could go on and on about why I love it so very very much (I've been annoying everyone around me because it was the only thing I talked about for the past 2 weeks) but I'll let the comic speak for itself. I'll just say that is is the single best comic I've ever read, that T-O-E is my favorite character and the awesomest robot ever and that Rice Boy (the char) reminds me of the Little Prince (one of my favorite books)
And I also wanna say how it inspired me (among other things) to practice drawing gestures because Evan does it so brilliantly.
And you should read this review because I agree with a lot of stuff that's written there.

Unfortunately, they don't have enough money and volunteers! They never put animals to sleep if they can't find them a home, but animals still die from diseases! That's how bad those conditions are!

now I was drawing Lato and Ador's sister Tea, and this was traced over a photo of a young female gray wolf captured here in Croatia. You probably noticed the large ears, long snout, short fur...I did this trace to study those qualities typical for gray wolves in this area

I wanted to draw wolves but it was evening already and they wouldn't stop moving. They were so interesting but I could only stay by their exhibit for about 10 min. I could tell they were interested in me, especially the omega but they were afraid to approach me. (I was on the other side of the cage right by the fence, only me. I guess most people don't know there is an other side of that cage)
I think I know who was the alpha, who was the omega and who was the alpha female.


I watched the documentary on NGC about expedition Wydah. You should learn about Bellamy, he was an interesting dude.

I decided I won't be making ref sheets for my Vuci characters right now 'cause it will probably be years before I do anything with them and they will certanly change a lot til then. So I will leave everything in the concept stage. This will be the profile picture for Lato for my character directory. It's weird how much you can care for an imaginary character. My OCs are my brainchildren, I love them.
I will update my character directory, Long Mi Mao Er, after I post this entry so go check it out.

I was inspired by Blotch's art to draw an anthro dog so I took suggestions and decided to draw a saluki beduin with some salukis. I should paint more traditionally 'cause I really really suck at it. Yesterday, when I saw how crappy this looked, I stopped working on it. I might finish it these days though...I don't know

and now back to m wolves. I thought about it and whatever I do with these wolves, I want it to be here in Croatia, in Croatian. So far I used the tag 'Lato' for this project. Now I'm changing it to 'Vuci', which is an archaic plural for of the Croatian word for wolf, 'vuk'. So, translated it's just 'Wolves'.

the one in the lower left corner was reffed from a NGM photo of an arctic wolf (hence the big paws)
I love how it looks but it won't work for his design since he's a gray wolf and his pack, when I created them back in 2005., was located here in Croatia and I think that's where I'll keep them

that headshot..it is perfect. It looks exactly how I want his head to look. But the body....eeeeh is fails.

soo I fixed it up a bit and I think it looks okay now. I just don't really like the front leg...so if I decide to use this as the final design and make a ref sheet out of it, I'm gonna fix that leg first. Other than that, it's got more or less everything I want for Lato; big head, big pointy ears, thin snout, thin but sturdy body, thin legs, long tail, small paws, longish neck.

one more thing! If you click here you'll see how wolves in Croatia are thin and have short fur. Well most of those pictures are adult females with summer fur, but there are also some pups, some males, and winter-fur wolves. That's my main reference for drawing my pack :)

wolves. Woot. A pack I created in 2005. Starting with the one I created first, who's sort of the main character of that 'story'.
I'm thinking of making it into a comic or something some day...I don't know. I want to do something with those wolves.

I've concluded that the best thing for me to do is to finish the new design for the character and post it and then post an entry of the old art of that character.

I'll post a bunch of random stuff in this thread, but first have the first ever picture of this char I am redesigning now



I think whatever I do with those wolves will have him as the main character and will be titled 'Lato'. so that's how I'll tag it here on LJ.  ...I might change that afterwards if I think of something more creative.

Mirta-Lion, originally just called 'mirta' (spelled with no capital letters), was my first 'sona'. (A sona is a character that is a representation of yourself in some kind of way)

I changed the name now to Mirta-Lion because I want to make a distinction between my fursona and myself, mirta.

She was created when I joined my first english website, an unofficial Lion King forum, Lea Halalela. That was back in 2005. and I was 11 years old. It was surprisingly simple and quick; I just sat down and drew this:

Then I scanned it and colored it in Gimp. That was November the 6th 2006. I was just learning to use Gimp, this was one of my first pictures. I used no layers x3 It was also the first picture I ever uploaded on deviantART. Her design was inspired by Vitani from TLK 2. Even though I hate and despize that sequel I like the character designs of Kovu and Vitani.
11 days later, I created an anthro version too. Back then I used to carry this little black bag for my cellphone and camera, and I hat these keychains on it..I still have that thinner one, it's name is Tim Tiger x3 Oh I love this BG XD

I am happy to announce that I'm finally starting that character redesign project I promised you months ago :D
Starting with my dear fursona, who I've had since 2005 -Mirta-Lion! This is for her new reference (that's not finished yet), and I love how it looks :)
It took a lot (and I mean a lot) of concept sketches and studying lion anatomy, but I got it right finally! I drew this using a little toy lioness as a reference =P

I still have to draw an anthro form for her. I like the one I did last year but I want to change it a bit...the anatomy was weird, I could only draw her in a few poses

the hands are the biggest problem...I need to find something between animal and human but also cartoony and simple to draw

Currently I'm working on a capybara ATC and I will (finally!) begin the character redesign project, starting with my dear fursona, Mirta-Lion. I'm sort of sick of doing sonas all the time but this is the last one! (for now..)

oh and also, these copyrights are so dammned annoying but I always put them on character sheets


oh yeah, and I've uploaded all of this character stuff on my OC directory, Long Mi Mao Er
